PERSONAL INTERESTS
Thank you visiting my portfolio! My name is Anita Cornell. In August 2017, I graduated from the University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Special Education and a Reading Credential. I am an only child and grew up in Mandan, North Dakota.
Ever since I could remember, I have always wanted to be a teacher. I had the opportunity to work with children in the preschool Sunday School at my church. I enjoyed helping to teach these young children about God. In the summer, I volunteered at my church's Vacation Bible School Program where I was an elementary and preschool crew leader. In high school, I took the class Occupational Childcare, where I created and taught lessons to a great class of first grade students. It was there that I decided I definitely wanted to major in Elementary Education. My further practicum experiences at the University of Mary and job experiences only increased my love and desire to work with children. Music has always been a large part of my life. I enjoy playing piano. My grandfather, who had a special gift for playing by ear, and I enjoyed playing duets together, especially at Christmastime. My grandfather and I also loved playing with his cats, which are our favorite pets. My cousins and I are close and have so much fun being together when we can all be at the family farm at the same time. In my free time I love reading, playing the piano, riding my bike, and spending time with my family and friends. My favorite books are the Anne of Green Gables books, the Little House books, and mysteries. |
My faith, family, and friends have always been incredibly important to me. Without them, I would not be the person that I am today. I would like to teach in Bismarck or Mandan to stay close to my family and friends.
